Painting by Numbers - Peter Bell

Peter Bell's impressionist style is steeped in idyllic European coastal scenes. His brushstrokes and palette highlight the subtleties of light and atmosphere in gaseous skies, lush gardens, charming buildings and glistening waters.

Born in 1969 in Washington, DC, Peter Bell began drawing and painting in high school. After his service in the US Navy, he attended the Brooklyn Museum School of Art and the National School of Art in Washington DC. His career began as a background and poster painter for a department store chain. Finally, after many years working as a commercial artist in Washington and as a freelance artist in southern Georgia,he finally devoted himself to painting and teaching full time.Bell's critically acclaimed work graces many private collections and has received numerous awards.

An art critic used the following words to describe Peter Bell's work: "[His] reflections are fantastic. His brushwork is alive, especially the strength of the light with which he brings each painting to life. The combination of brushstrokes and palette is unique and barely visible. His paintings are full of strength and emotion."
