Painting by Numbers - Amira Rahim

Amira initially turned to art as a hobby for its therapeutic benefits to escape the pressures of the world around her. She chose to focus her career on law where she became enamoured of sociology, relegating painting to a hobby.

She realised that her talent as an artist was not being exploited when she saw the show, The Art of Getting By, and was left with the urgent feeling that she needed to achieve artist status quickly. She began to paint daily, patterning her work after the works of her favourite painters such as Van Gogh or Picasso, and came up against the limit of realism. She was unable togive it the desired expressive qualities.

Thus, she tried abstract art to paint her emotions and her first such canvas was a great success. Amira's work is characterised by explosions of bright colours reflecting the artist's bubbly personality.

Since then, Amira has been working in the field of abstract art.

Since then, Amira has also becomea painting teacher and art coach to guide new talent through her path.
