After earning her MA from San Jose State University in California, Betty taught painting, drawing and sculpture in elementary and high school.
Betty's artistic style is marked by impressionism. Her use of color, light and shadow accentuates her subject matter while showing the love of the artist towards nature and its forms .
"What catches my attention is the effect that light has on form in unique situations, whether fleeting, overwhelming, striking, etc. I challenge myself to capture its dramatic effects and / or subtle. "- Betty Carr
After years of teaching art in Colorado and California and developing her distinctive painting style, Betty and her artist husband decided to follow the sun to the southwest where color and light are still there.
Betty is collected both privately and in business and is accepted in many jury exhibitions.
In addition, Betty was recently selected as a master painter of the "American Impressionist Society" (IALA)
